 Introduction

The structure determined by Prof. Stuart's group reveals that SARS9b has a novel fold, a dimeric tent-like beta structure with an amphipathic surface, and a central hydrophobic cavity. It avidly binds lipid molecules, a feature proposed to be relevant to its putative function in membrane attachment possibly during viral assembly.
